Siciliae urbs olim munitissima circa fontes Achatis fluv. quae primi belli Punici tempore sita erat, in confinio Syracusanorum et Carthaginiensium, hodie Ochula, vel Aquila vocatur. De ea praeter Steph. vide Polyb. l. 1. Echetla autem literis traiectis factum videtur ex Etchela, quasi mumtam dixeris. Diod. de Agrigentinorum duce Xenodocho: τὴν δ᾿ Ε᾿χέτλαν χωρίον ὀχυρον ἐκπολιορχήσας, τοῖς μὲν πολίταις τηὸ δημοκρατίαν ἀποκατέςησε, τοὺς δὲ Συρακουσίους κατεπλήξατο. Bochart. Vide sis Cluv. Sicil.
